After breakfast, we will explore Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Once the capital of the Nabataeans, Petra is famous for its temples and tombs carved into rose-red cliffs. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.
The tour begins with a walk through the Siq, a narrow 1.5 km canyon, leading to the iconic Treasury. Beyond the Treasury lies a hidden valley filled with ruins, facades, amphitheaters, colonnaded streets, and stairways.
After Petra, we will continue to Wadi Rum for a 2-hour sunset 4×4 safari, exploring red sand dunes, granite mountains, ancient rock carvings, and Nabataean ruins. This desert inspired T.E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia).
Dinner and overnight at Mars Land Luxury Camp in bubble tents.
After breakfast at the camp, we will drive to Bethany, an important biblical archaeological site. Excavations have uncovered more than 20 churches, caves, and baptismal pools dating from the Roman and Byzantine periods. It is believed to be the location where John the Baptist lived, Jesus was baptized, and where the first five apostles met. Some also believe it is where the Prophet Elijah ascended to heaven.
From there, the path to the Jordan River changes from desert to a lush oasis, reflecting why Prophet Jeremiah called it “the jungle of the Jordan.”
Next, we will continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth. Surrounded by desert mountains, its highly saline waters allow you to float effortlessly—a unique experience.
